Chanel Hydrabase Lipstick - Fire -Fall 04

Review by liselise1: So bright that it looks almost fuchsia on me. It just wasn't the right red, I suppose. Can't say I'd ever buy it.

Review by mz654: I adore this shade?a gorgeous bright fire-engine red! It's a surprisingly flattering colour that can be worn with the absolute bare minimum of other makeup?the shade actually brings out a natural flush in my cheeks and makes me look bright-eyed and fresh. A little flick of black eyeliner on my top lashline, and I'm good to go. I'm fond of the rose scent of this range, too. My one cavil is the texture?I've never liked the Hydrabase texture?though nicely pigmented, they are SO drying on my lips; and if I didn't love this particular shade so much I would not wear the Hydrabase range at all. I need to prime my lips well with plenty of balm, otherwise this lipstick can look a little cake-y... which is better than flake-y (which does sometimes happen at the end of a long night of cocktails).

Review by LuiLui: When i tried Hydrabase's Fire shade, it was my first encounter with Estee Lauder's Hydrabase. from the first moment i started to apply this gorgeous thing on my lips, i realized that this is definately a supreme quality lipstick. The satin, almost matte finish, flattered enormously the undecribeble bright blue-red color. The application was very easy because of the "dry" texture of the product, although it doesn't dry the lips half as much as Aqualumiere (or at all!).
The final result (a lip pencil is recommended) is breathtaking, and with different foundation intensities and eyes, you can achieve a whole veriety of looks, despite the extreme brightness of this color.
definately a must have for medium-toned women (at least!).

NARS promiscuous

Review by taurusgurl5984: This product is alright. I don't dis like it, but i don't love it. For some reason i don't think that it shows that well on my natural lip color. It didn't have the same effect on my lips then it did on the back of my hand at the store. It's a good everyday shade, but definately wouldn't do the trick for me when i want a dramatic night time look. I have to wear it a couple more times before i decide whether or not ill buy it again.

Review by blyss: I fall in and out of love with this lipstick but maybe it's because I get really tan in the summer and very fair in the winter.....Hmmm. Well anyhow, this color is a shimmery golden-beigy/nude. It can look a little brown on me sometimes but other times it tends to look like a sheer glaze of a honey color. To me, Nars lipsticks are nothing amazing and it seems they come with less than most but I adore the packaging and the formula. I will use this lipstick up but I probably won't repurchase. I cannot really smell much of anything with my lipstick and it's not drying or sticky either. This looks great with strip tease or greek holiday over top. All in all, I'll give it a 4 just because this specific color is nothing you can't dupe.

Review by YolandaMC: Nars describes this as a shimmering honey beige, true enough but I think of it as a shimmering golden nude. Formula is a satin so it has plenty of shine and is well pigmented and long wearing. This is a great semi metallic light neutral gold and pairs very well with the fall 2007 collection eye shadows. It's unique in the color range of Nars. This will go into heavy rotation for me. Light enough for day and polished enough for night I love it! I think both warm and cool tone people can wear this and looks great layered with other lipsticks and glosses. Nars Mont Blanc, Becca Sand, Fresh Northern Light. Fair with freckles, blue/green eyes and light brown/dirty blonde hair with some red highlights. Seriously go check this shade out, I think it's fantastic!

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Personnel

Review by IiIy: Great long lasting lipstick, application from sheer to intense color n shine, didn't dry out my lips, I've got #8 (tender parma) great for soft looks, #15 (red sin) give me fresh looks n vibrant color, #18 (forbidden plum) this one looks very sexy on my PPP skin. Definitely love to try other shades. It's quite expensive but worth it, if you used it sheer then it goes a long way. For intense color I prefer T'estimo 27.60 (Kanebo - japanese product) because I only dab a little n it goes a long way n looks more natural.

Review by sleepyone: I don't really like lipsticks but the YSL counter was having a sale and saw these pretty lip colours. I got this in #15 and #12. Very moisturising and you don't need to put on too much. #15 is a nice red colour (I think it's called Red Sin) that I could just wear on nights out, and if I'm game, in the day time too :-) , #12 didn't have same effect as 15 but still a nice pretty soft pink shade. I got these at AuD23.95 each so a bargain from the usual 49 price tag.

Review by mulhollanddrive: YSL Rouge Personnel are my favourite lipsticks at a moment. Great texture, very longlasting, matte but non-drying and intensely pigmented lipsticks. I've always liked YSL lipsticks but this is something really special, my absolute favourite. I have #13 right now, an intense pink with a hint of warmth - very nice and alluring on lips (actually it is not as intense on my lips as it looks in a case. It adds a lot of "life" to my complexion, especially now in winter when I'm quite pale) and I'm planning to purchase #12, a more discreet rose colour.
