L'Oreal Everpure smooth conditioner

Review by oneofmylies99: I bought this as an alternative to using my more expensive conditioners on a regular basis. This conditioner is pretty average. It didn't do much to smooth my wavy and frizzy hair, and it didn't matter how I styled my hair either-- air dry or blow dry, I ended up with fairly frizzy hair. I also don't really care for the packaging. It was difficult to dispense the conditioner in the shower. The smell, a very herbal scent, is fine, but it is quite strong and sticks with your hair throughout the day.

Review by cyndiinphilly: I bought this w the same type shampoo (see review). I am satisfied. I have only used it twice so far and will edit if my opinion changes but for less than 6 this is worth every penny. After 2 uses my hair is softer and slightly less frizzy. I have a lot of thick hair so products that weigh hair down can keep me from looking like a chia pet. So far I am pleased. This may not be so good for someone with thin and/or oily hair but for my thick coarse hair I am thrilled.

Review by Suzy_h: I really really wanted to like this; it was cheap (compared to salon brands I was using like pureology, enjoy, jonathon, redken to name a few), it doesn't contain any silicones, it was 'natural' vegan etc... BUT I just plain don't like it.
While the smell does remind me of old men's cologne, if this was an HG conditioner I wouldn't care, but since this is a terrible conditioner I will mention that the smell is awful.
Here's why it is terrible: leaves roots greasy, ends dry, hair is somewhat soft, but VERY frizzy. I have tried only using it on my ends, and not my whole head, and it still does nothing for my hair... time to pass it on to my boyfriend, except I don't really want him smelling like an old man either.
:)
ps. contains mineral oil.... probably why it doesn't work for hair (mineral oil can't penetrate the hair shaft)

Alberto Vo5 Alberto V05 Extra Body Conditioner

Review by Keva: This shampoo and matching conditioner did amazing things for my limp fine super-long hair. It made it really full, giving the illusion of more hair. The problem is it has the side effect for me of way more tangles, especially while I sleep. So I was combing tangles out for days, since I don't wash every day.
It also may look slightly less shiny when this shampoo is in effect, not sure.
Because of the tangle problem, I will only use this now and then when I have an outing where I want my hair to look fuller. Then I will probably wash it out right away to prevent breakage from the ordeal of removing tangles.
Not sure if I'll buy again because of the tangle problem. I'll say 'No' since there is no 'Maybe' here.
By the way, I'm glad they don't put formaldehyde in this product anymore! That made me stop and think years ago when I used it as a teen.

Review by meeshmu: This is my HG drugstore conditioner. I've found it's amazing for daily use without weighing my hair down. It also works as a deep conditioner leaving my hair feeling moisturized and light. I really like that it's silicone free.
Ingredients:
Water, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Stearalkonium Chloride, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Octoxynol-9, Retinyl Palmitate, Ergocalciferol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ascorbic Acid, Panthenol, Gelatin/Keratin Amino Acids/Lysine HydroxypropylTrimonium Chloride, Steareth-21, Glyceryl Stearate, DMDM Hydantoin, Disodium EDTA, fragrance Parfum, Yellow 6, Yellow 5

Review by ciarar: I am a licensed cosmetologist, so I have used tons of professional products over the years. In many cases I found the products disappointing and definitely not worth the money (even when I was paying half price). If I've learned anything it's that a high price is no guarantee of a good product. This conditioner, at around 1.00, is great. It smooths my hair without over softening it, gives me great shine and leaves my hair so easy to manage and style. It doesn't contain silicones which I love because silicones funk up my hair and make a mess of it, and it's getting harder and harder to find silicone-free products. I have been using Wella volumizing conditioner; which is good, but it's highly perfurmed. This conditioner has a very light, barely there scent which doesn't bother my nose or my scalp. Will definitely continue to use this on a regular basis.

Dove Volumizing Color Foam Conditioner

Review by Elixir: I think that for about 3.00, you must try this product. The foam is such a fun and novel idea. It is nothing like styling mousse. It's much thicker...more like whipped cream. Very nice, mild scent. I have long hair-about down the middle of my back. And this conditioner really softened my hair. It was easy to comb, and my hair looked good. For a drugstore brand, this was a very good product. Better than most at the drugstore. Don't get me wrong, this is no Terax or Kerastase, but I would definitely repurchase. This is a fun, quick, inexpensive conditioner.

Review by bobsy: This is a GREAT conditioner for fine, thin, or limp hair! I can't believe how nice it made my hair feel. I could tell it was a good one even before I rinsed it out....it just made my hair texture so smooth and soft. This one's a keeper at a price you can't beat!

Review by scrapdoll: THis is a great light feeling conditioner for days when you don't need that heavy coating on yor hair and want more BODY instead! Great stuff but better suited for people with fine texture hair thats in good shape to begin with
