Smashbox Eye Shadow Trio - Viewfinder

Review by dastac: Nice trio of colors - a shimmery off-white, muted salmon and a deep greyed golden olive. The salmon goes on sheer, the off-white is a nice highlighter and the deep greyed golden olive is great in the crease or to define the lashline. Because the set is higher in contrast, it's not as slap-on easy as other color combinations. But, all together the shades work and make my eyes look defined and awake. They wear well with a shadow base. I reach for this occasionally, but I can see myself using it more in the fall when I tend to wear bolder colors. Not sure if I'd repurchase because I never tend to use up my products but I'll say 'yes' because it's recommendable. :) Pairs perfectly with the Smashing Image cream eye liner.

Review by Springncts: Smashbox released several new trios Spring 2006. I should have realized that every line seems to be coming out with similiar shades and Smashbox is no exception. The Eye Shadow Trio in Smashing Viewfinder has a soft shimmery champagne, matte peach, and a shimmery dark olive khaki. The olive is the stand out from the trio. Love this color. The champagne highlighter isnt as pigmented as the other two but not bad. The glide on smoothly and last all day with a good base. The trio retails for 28. What i realized though is that the champagne and peach shade are the exact colors in the Smashing Dub trio. Kinda disappointed. But still pretty.

Review by Lyssa2676: Hate to rain on the parade, but to me, these shadows are just alright. The salmon and the white are a little hard to pick up on a brush, but the green is much softer. Pigmentation is average. (Yes, even the green.) For the money, you don't get much product. I do, though, like the combination of the colors; they shouldn't work together, but they do. It's a unique combination that you won't find anywhere else. I'm glad that I have it and I'll use it until it's gone, but I probably won't buy it again.

E.L.F. Brightening Eye Color - Punk Funk

Review by staci01: The colors are very bold, the white is a tad bit chunky. Works well over a good primer.

Review by ciarar: Well, hate to lower the score on this one, but it didn't work for me. The colors are bright and pretty in the pan, but faded very quickly (more than the other quads) on my eyes to an indistinguishable gray-undertoned mess. True, I don't use primer or maybe I just got a bad one. Also, my lids are very oily.

Review by Suzy_h: I like this. The colors are nice. Pretty pigmented. I am surprised, honestly. I haven't heard many good things about these quads.. but I like this one. (I can't comment on the other ones because I don't have any of the others.. but I will be trying them soon : ) ) The pink is bright and sparkly.. as is the blue.. The white isn't too pigmented.. but it makes a nice base color.

Neutrogena Nourishing Eye Quad

Review by AutumnBliss: I have this in moonlit violet and taupes - i used to love both quads because of the color selections, the convenience of having all shades in one place with labels about where each one goes, and they look beautiful when they're first applied. But they fade unfortunately - I wouldnt mind if they're weren't so pricey; you're better off using NYX which is actually cheaper.

Review by jenss79: The colors are fine, I have the one with the pink and purple shades. However, the pink one shows up a little too powdery. But I do like that the base color as SPF 20. The other colors are quite pigmented and good and the colors are pretty easy to blend. However, the lasting power isn't that great at all. Even with a base, it faded pretty quickly. : If it weren't for that, I would have bumped it up a lippie but until they fix that. It's a mediocre product.

Review by julie9536: I have this in Butter Creme. It was hard to choose which color would be best (the other brown/taupe shades looked similar) but this is the lightest. It does crease after a long time (my eyelids get oily), but the color is natural-looking and brightening at the same time. I use the base, crease and highlighter colors but I'm not going to try the accent (darkest) shade because of my fair complexion.
