Shiseido Silky Eyeshadow Duo- Taffeta Taupe

Review by bebejacket: What a disappointment. These eye shadows look great in the pan, but they are not easy to blend and have absolutely no staying power. I even have a hard time applying them as they just start disappearing if you work with them too much. I usually never have problems with eye shadows disappearing on my lids, but this does and really fast! The shimmer is the only thing left after a couple of hours. I would not repurchase.

Review by KateN: I fell in love with the colours of this product. Unfortunately, i find it a little too shimmerry when its actually on my eyes. The quality of the eyeshadow is really good though. I dont think i;ll buy again. This product reminds me of the l'oreal powder duo bronze star - though the colours in that are more intense i thnk.

Review by cperry: I've had this product for several years and my opinion of it has gone around in a circle. When I first bought it I loved it, and then i thought it was too cool, and now I reach for it all the time again. Will repurchase. (unless I change my mind!)

NARS Brazil

Review by ahappyplace: I love this duo. I am very fair so they look good on me. I have to be careful that I am not heavy handed as they do have a lot of pigment to them. They look good on my brown eyes. I am surprised this duo does not have a higher rating. I may try to cream shadows next. I really like Nars products.

Review by cloud0204: The Brazil duo consists of a muted medium gold and a muted coppery-rose. Both shades are sheer and shimmery, and blend very well together -- in fact, too well on me. I could barely tell the difference between the two colors on my eyelid, even with a base underneath. They are lovely colors in the pan, but don't show up on my olive MMM skin. They may work better on someone with a fairer complexion. Passing on this duo.

Review by kerroppifreak: Gorgeous, wearable colours, and the texture is typical NARS quality - soft, highly pigmented and such a pleasure to work with.

Bare Escentuals Soul

Review by beckibabe: Soul is one of those colors I wondered how I lived without. I use it all the time, especially since I like light colors on the eyes. It's a creamy bone color that isn't white or chalky, and I generally use it all over the lid and then use a fun color (like lime green) in the crease and outer corner. I don't think you can beat the blendability and smoothness of BE shadows. And at only 12 for insane amounts of product, who could complain?

Review by blacklittlepig: One of my favorite base shades. It's a lovely vanilla with a subtle sheen that keeps it from looking cakey or powdery. The shade has enough opacity and is just the right shade to really brighten the lid. It's virtually impossible to use up a loose BE shadow but I just might do so with this one! The packaging is without a sifter so the product makes a huge mess, otherwise it would be 5 stars!

Review by runty: A very nice all over eye brightener. When I am too tired to think about what color to use I grab this. It makes me look more awake without having to try hard. A must have item in your makeup bag!
